Hi all,
On September 20th, Andrew's celebrated his observed
birthday! Unfortunately, yours truly had a bit of a
rocky week with not feeling particularly well. So this
is a bit short but, nonetheless, I hope it gives you a reason
to enjoy a special treat or something in honor of the birthday
boy!
God bless,
Jenni

How Andrew Spent
His "47th" Birthday
I wish I had it in me to write a story and maybe eventually I'll
get around to it. I've thought for a while that this
particular birthday would be poignant. On September 20th,
according to his ID, Andrew turned 47. We all know that
Andrew is, of course, much, much older than that.
But as he moves through the world, he does so as a 47-year-old
man now. That is, of course, the same age John Dye was
when he passed. And I don't think that would be lost on
him nor on JenniAnn.
I think JenniAnn probably woke up first and just stared lovingly
at Andrew for a while. Then, knowing the kids were soon to
enter with breakfast-in-bed, JenniAnn woke him up with a kiss
and was the first to wish Andrew a happy birthday. They
said some mushy stuff to each other and then the kids and
grandkids and Marty burst in bearing fruit and veggie filled
crepes along with a carafe of coffee and a pitcher of orange
juice mixed with ginger ale. The family spent a quiet
morning together until friends and other family started
trickling in just before noon for a lowkey but packed pizza
party lunch, complete with cake and ice cream. It was
largely gift-free at Andrew's request but that didn't stop
Joshua from presenting him with a JenniAnn-inspired mixed CD
made of songs from Andrew's long-deceased iPod that was somehow
both more touching and more cringey than the Andrew-inspired
mixed CD JenniAnn made at a similar time. That CD came in
handy once the party ended and the happy couple walked to the
Fields of Gold where they danced to it in their cabin. At
points, they thought tenderly of the man whose empathetic acting
had re-awakened JenniAnn's crush on the long-disappeared
"Cupid." Then, still full from lunch, they managed to
share a large slice of red velvet cake and some fruit for
dinner/dessert before retiring to bed. JenniAnn made very
sure Andrew felt very loved. Then the birthday boy drifted
to sleep, thanking God and knowing he would never be alone and
never, ever be without love.

Dye for inspiring so many of my creative outlets.
