Hi all,
I feel like the older I get, the more of an introvert I
become! After a week of being around more than the usual
amount of people and even braving malls a couple of times, I'm
beat! So I kept this newsletter very short so I could
sneak in some extra rest.
I know the holiday season is busy and stressful for a lot of
people so I hope you're all taking time for yourselves, resting
when you need to, and staying hydrated! :-)
God bless,
Jenni
Dyelanders' and Friends'
Favorite Christmas Traditions
Aziraphale's favorite Christmas tradition is
being tucked away in his bookshop with Crowley, some mulled
wine, and carolers coming around to serenade them. Crowley
always scowls but Aziraphale loves them. He has yet to
find out that there aren't really that many carolers in the
neighborhood and that Crowley's been paying people off for years
so Aziraphale can enjoy his tradition.
Caleb and
Lacey are starting all new Christmas traditions with their twins,
Marisa and Gianni. Their favorite thus far is taking them to
see Santa Adam and cooing over the resulting photos.
Naturally, Adam's favorite tradition is
playing Santa for all the little Friends. He's been at it
for so long that now some of the older kids know the truth and
are happy to help their uncle out and keep the magic alive for
the little ones.
Owen's favorite Christmas tradition is caroling at his grandma's
assisted living home with Graham and then leading the residents in
making a seasonal craft.
One of Shelby's favorite Christmas traditions is taking the time
to journal and get down her memories and perceptions of the
various celebrations and general goings on around
Willowveil. Those journals will definitely come in handy
later!
Ed's favorite non-Steve-centric Christmas tradition is binging all
the Call the Midwife Christmas specials. His real
favorite tradition is his private Christmas gift exchange with
Steve.
Emma and Peter love going through the
holiday cards received at St. G's and especially getting the
photo collage ones from people who have been attending shows
there for years.
JenniAnn's favorite Christmas tradition of late is baking cookies
with her kids and then watching them proudly present them to their
Daddy when he gets home from a long day of assignments and/or
carpentry work.
Ichabod's favorite tradition is excitedly
licking up all the sprinkles and frosting and cookie bits Avi
and Belle drop then crashing on Andrew's lap.
Andrew has
two traditions that are currently tied: 1. Seeing his kids'
excitement and happiness on Christmas morning and 2. Getting them
tucked into bed on Christmas Eve, covering the last, lingering
Christmas prep tasks with JenniAnn, and then sharing a dance with
her in front of the Christmas tree before getting much needed
rest.
This newsletter is
dedicated to John Dye for inspiring these newsletters.
Even though it can be somewhat difficult to think of something
to do every two weeks, I still enjoy writing them and when
things are hectic I definitely appreciate having an excuse to
just sit at my computer for a bit.
