“If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together… there is something you must always remember.
You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
But the most important thing is, even if we're apart… I'll always be with you.”
~~ Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne

Hi all,

I've been hard at work putting my kitchen back in order after January's rodent invasion.  I was going to send another excerpt from the abandoned Dyeland finale but decided I needed at least half a day to sit and rest.  So that gave me some time to write the following musings about what the actual finale might be like.  I hope you enjoy!

God bless,
Jenni

The Dyeland Finale To Do List

So, at least in the States, this has been a big year for finales.  The Big Bang Theory and Game of Thrones wrapped.  I never watched either but I know their finales were pretty eagerly anticipated... and, in the latter case, widely panned.  Personally, I'm counting down the final episodes of Jane the Virgin and iZombie.  In movies, The Avengers: Endgame wrapped up a phase of the Marvel movies.  The final part of the latest Star Wars trilogy will be coming out in December.  So that's a lot of good byes... for good or ill.

Even though I've never seen a single episode of Thrones, reading some of the press about its finale has been rather inspiring.  One thing I saw coming up a lot is that so much was left unresolved.  And maybe that was on purpose.  After all, spin-off series are in the works.  But it made me think of the things I'd like to resolve before the Dyeland finale.  It's not that I believe that's imminent.  I really don't know.  I have at least four stories that I really want to tell yet this year so I think, barring extreme circumstances, we can assume it won't happen this year.  But it's good to be prepared.  So here are a few things I want to get done either before or during the eventual finale.

1.  Expand on Mary Magdalene's character.  In "Chrysalis," I covered her history with Yeshua/Joshua and explained how she came to be one of his disciples.  But I haven't said anything more about her role during his ministry.  I'd like to cover that.  There are a few scenes of her acting in the modern world but she's yet to meet any of the Friends.  I want that to happen... and possibly sooner rather than later.

2.  There have been some very basic hints of what life will be like for Andrew and Monica following the deaths of their human anam caras, mainly in the form of Reuel's involvement in El-Chanan.  But I'd like to cover at least a little bit about how one or both cope in the immediate wake of JenniAnn's and Arthur's deaths... and then maybe show how they reintegrate back into the work we saw them do for nine years on TBAA.  Or maybe they do something else entirely.  I dunno.

3.  At one point, Joshua alluded to a potential future assignment in which he would be in the form of an old man.  Why?  How does that assignment go?

4.  While on the subject of Joshua, we know from "The Carpenter" that Andrew had a brief encounter with the incarnate Yeshua on the day of his death.  Did any of the other angels who we know and love interact with him during those thirty three years?

5.  I would hope that the Friends would remain a united force for good in the generations to come.  But once the first generation goes Home, where will their main gathering places be?  Right now it's probably a toss-up between St. Genesius' and Willowveil with Emma and Peter and Andrew and JenniAnn playing hosts for their gatherings.  Will those locations remain as important?  Will their kids take them over?  If so, which ones?

6.  For that matter, what happens to the Tunnels after Vincent's death?  His son, Jacob, becomes a world-renowned artist.  Would he and his eventual wife, Daisy, want to be tied to one spot?  Will there no longer be a patriarch?

7.  What happens to Eben?  At the end of "Shadowlands," Andrew's former best friend has returned to the good side.  He's since visited with Andrew and JenniAnn and worked at least one assignment with Maryam and Yosef.  But does he ever get fully integrated into the Friends?

8.  What happens to Violeta?  This one literally keeps me up at night a lil bit.  Does she decide to age like Andrew did?  Does she have an anam cara?  What does she do once JenniAnn and her siblings and Ivy and Sy have died?  While she's totally an angel, she's also among the most human... being partly created from a human.  What bearing does that have on how she copes with life in the future?  Just as a spoiler...  This is the one I think I have the most resolution on.  Scroll to the very bottom of the page if you want the spoiler.  Otherwise, don't scroll past the JABB TOC and JABB Portal links.

9.  Does Vincent's and Avi's condition get passed down?  Does anyone ever go public?  If yes, what's the reaction?

10.  And most importantly... what happens to Andrew?  Does he stay an AOD?  Does he get a further promotion?  We'll see...

More from Andrew's Scrapbook

So the whole GoT disappointment thing has left me thinking a lot about TBAA's finale... which I was myself disappointed in.  I just hated that it left the angels crying and going their separate ways.  So, to cope, I started a scrapbook for Andrew and have already shown several of those pages.  I don't think I've shared these which I put together for a section aptly titled "Friends."  Enjoy!  I do wish I'd had an actual photo printer at the time...

This newsletter is dedicated to John Dye for being part of so many shows and movies that remind us of the importance of friendship!

The spoiler: I think Violeta does have a hard time following the deaths of her human family, maybe especially JenniAnn's since she's been a mother-figure to her and, in fact, Violeta is descended from her (and Andrew) in a manner.  Maybe she returns to Heaven for a while.  But then I think she starts to realize that she can be the symbolic, immortal representation of Andrew and JenniAnn in Dyeland.  So she basically becomes Dyeland's equivalent to Reuel, their principality.  She takes up residence in Willowveil which remains a home to the Friends for generations to come.
