“The object of a New Year
is not that we should have a new year. It
is that we should have a
new soul and a new nose; new feet, a new
backbone, new ears, and new eyes.”
~~G.K. Chesterton
Hi all,
Welcome to the first JABB of 2018! This is a little weird
to me just because I only finished JABB 506 earlier today.
So the Twelve Days of Christmas ended up being more like
fourteen days. :-)
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this newsletter which is inspired by my
own resolutions!
God bless,
Jenni
Organizational Ideas from Dyeland
Getting organized is a pretty common New
Year's resolution so I can imagine several of the Dyelanders
involving at least a little organization into their plans for
2018. Ideas like...
1. Monica might organize her bags of coffee into a
sensible order like: decaf, light roast, dark roast, and "don't
tell Tess" super-strong.
2. Andrew might consider hanging up his flannel shirts in
his closet based on their primary color... and then give up any
hope of organizing them since JenniAnn is just going to steal
them anyway.
3. Violeta might resolve to be more organized during the
coming semester by getting an actual, paper day planner... which
will then be rendered useless when all she does is paste
entertainment magazine snippets about Hugh Jackman into it.
4. The former vampires, still on a high since being cured
on Easter, likely have obsessively organized kitchens so they
can fulfill their long dormant cravings with little trouble at
any time of the day or night. I foresee numerous beautiful
crystal containers filled with Skittles, Gummy Bears, and the
like.
5. Emma and Peter might call the group together to
organize St. Genesius' costume closet but their plans would
quickly get derailed when everyone just ends up reminiscing the
whole day away.
6. Vincent will take the time to get the Tunnel library
into proper Dewey Decimal order and not just the "ask Father or
Vincent" order which it's previously been kept in.
7. JenniAnn, ever the slightly prudish one, could organize
her iTunes library into categories: "fun songs for dancing with
Andrew", "slow songs for dancing with Andrew", and "songs that I
really want to dance with Andrew to but only in private because
of that one suggestive lyric."
8. The Friends will band together to get the
baby/maternity store at Willowveil in order because it will be
needed... a lot... in 2018.
9. Logan will sort his comic book collection into two
piles: 1. Going to sell to buy engagement ring and
2. Will sell to buy engagement ring if I have to because
she's worth it.
10. And Joshua will keep organizing assignments to
guarantee the angels and their friends are never bored!
And because I don't know when else I'll use it, here's the New
Year's-themed page I made for Andrew's scrapbook. Not
the most impressive page but considering TBAA only had one New
Year's episode...
Three Things
In 2018, I also want to take the time to
reflect on all I have to be grateful for. So I'm
introducing this new feature where I (or any other takers!)
will list three things related to JABB, TBAA, or John Dye that
I'm/we're grateful for. I'm not sure if I'll do it in
every newsletter or just sporadically so we'll see how it
goes.
1. I'm grateful that, so many years after TBAA ended,
people are still finding our web site and joining us!
2. I'm thankful for having heard from a few former and
longstanding JABB members lately. It's always so nice to
hear from you all!
3. I remain very glad and grateful that, 22 years ago
yesterday, I decided to tune into TBAA and got to see the very
first appearance of John Dye as Andrew. I didn't know it
then but my life had been changed and blessed.
This newsletter is dedicated to John Dye for giving us another
year of inspiration and, yes, another year of obsessing over
flannel shirts/ leather jacket/ jeans/ insert favorite article
of Andrew's clothing here.
