"No work is insignificant. All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and
importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence." ~~ Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Hi all,

Well, in honor of Labor Day tomorrow, I'm not doing much labor on this newsletter.  ;-)  Actually, I'm back to writing so, until that story is finished, there may be some pretty short newsletters.

I hope those of you with an extra day off enjoy it!

God bless,
Jenni

So as I sat down to write this, it occurred to me that folks in Dyeland and those dear to them might have some things to say about work.  So since tomorrow is Labor Day, here's some labor-related wisdom from Dyeland and beyond.

"Nepotism can be a good thing.  :-)  The boss is always happy to have you bring your kid to work when said kid is their grandkid." ~~JenniAnn

"Being a stay at home mom is definitely a job." ~~Maryam

"Coffee is a working angel's best friend.  I'm only kidding, of course.  God is.  But coffee's very good." ~~Monica

"Try to love what you do.  Also, look at the big picture.  There may be times when your work seems insignificant but it's not.  God sees it all.  And it's like that old starfish story.  You may not be able to reach and help everyone... but it sure matters to the ones you do help." ~~Andrew

"Listen to what your mentor says.  They have loads of wisdom about your job and life in general.  And always be sure to thank them.  They like to feel appreciated.  I love mine!" ~~ Violeta

"I said once that there's nothing more satisfying than working for God and that's true.  But, babies, working for God with friends is even better!" ~~Tess

"Embark on every task as an opportunity to learn." ~~Vincent

"I'm glad that my job gives me the opportunity to help people tell their stories."  ~~Kemara

"'My turkey ate it' is not considered a valid excuse for failing to turn in a report, brief, expense statement, etc. even if your turkey really did eat it.  I guess Alexander was hungry..." ~~Adam

"Pay attention to your co-workers and don't take them for granted.  Sometimes the people you need the most and who love you best are already right there in front of you." ~~Emma

"I'm grateful that part of my job is helping others find jobs.  There's nothing quite like the feeling of knowing you're contributing to society and making a life for yourself.  It's an awesome experience when my guys learn they've been hired." ~~Arthur

"Always pick up after yourself following a job well done.  Even being born in a barn is no excuse for uncleanliness." ~~Yosef

"Make the humans and angels do the work for you." ~~ The Pets of Dyeland

"Take a break after a job well done.  And take breaks during longer jobs, too.  Go for a walk, have a snack, read a book (maybe the Book... yeah, I know... shameless author plug), spend time with friends, pray, breathe.  You won't do any good if you exhaust yourself.  Even I rest." ~~ Joshua

Now for a game!  Below, I have hidden various jobs that Andrew has had.  Find the job titles and then match them to the TBAA episode or JABB story in which he had that job.  Answers can be horizontal, vertical, backwards, and diagonal.

Well, seems we're up for some severe weather possibly (just heard thunder!).  So... I dedicate this newsletter to John Dye for making bad weather a bit more bearable.  Whether it's curling up to watch TBAA as it pours or settling down to write as distraction from the thunder and lightning, John's been a huge part of keeping me calm during storms.  Best wishes to and prayers for all those dealing with inclement weather!
