"Whenever you give someone a present or sing a holiday song,
you're helping Santa Claus.
To me, that's what Christmas is all about.
Helping Santa Claus!"
~Lous Sachar

Hi all,

I hope everyone's enjoying the holiday season!  I know I'm looking forward to Christmas!  Shortly before I'll be sending the annual Dyeland Christmas story.  But after the last couple newsletters, I think we're due for something shorter!  So I hope ya enjoy the following!  Thanks to Yvette and Nicole for submitting letters from their characters!

God bless,
Jenni

Dyelanders' Letters to Santa Claus!!!

Dear Santa,

My wishes this year are not vast.  I want to have my friends together for the holidays and for us to all be happy and healthy.  I know that this is not something that you can take care of, but it is my grandest hope.  If there is no way for us to be together, then I would be content with a collage with everyone's pictures so I will not forget the blessing that they have been for me all the years I have been in Dyeland.

Namasté and Love,
Yva

Dear Santa,

Please, I am on my knees begging this time.  Don't let Tess make me end the life of another noble turkey this year.  I am running out of excuses to give her for not doing it.  I just can't take anymore, and that book, 'The Scientist's Best Made Plans' that Sir Sven gave me last year has been dog-eared a few too many times and she's now wise to the excuses in there.  Is there a volume 2?  Maybe you could put that into my stocking this year...or Alexander's since it's his neck on the line.

Thank you and God bless,
Adam

Dear Father Christmas,

It is my humblest wish that you make the dreams and wishes of our friends come true this year.  I am not in need of much except a new timepiece that was mistakenly crushed whilst visiting Willy and Yva earlier this month.  It inadvertently fell into the gobstopper machine, thus causing a grand deal of trauma for Sir Willy as well the Lady Yva.

Please do assist them in making things right again, but a new timepiece would assist me in not being late for my assignments.

God's Richest Blessings,
Nigel

Dear Santa,

By the persuasion of my daughter, I have decided to write you this year.  It's been a very hectic year, with one disaster after another coming.  I am grateful to you for your orders and continuing to use my chocolate with your gifts to all those precious children.  However, because Yva has told me time and again that I should write to you in a non-business way, I am hoping that you might assist me by sending someone to my factory in London and having them assist me in getting the last of the broken equipment repaired.  It has proven a vast job for my workers as well as Charlie.  This has hampered his budding relationship with Andi and I really want to see those two kids happy.

So, some assistance would be greatly valued as well as appreciated.

Kindest Regards,
Willy

Dear Santa,

Hi. It's Rose. I don't want a lot this year, but there is one thing that I want very much.

A calculator. But it's gotta be pretty heavy duty, I think. I need it to try and calculate Andrew's age. I think if I just got the right one, it'd work. Maybe you could sprinkle some of your North Pole magic over it to help me out? Just a little bit. I promise I won't use it for anything bad. Just to find out how old Andrew is. And also, I totally swear not to  tell him you were in on this. I wouldn't want that to interfere with any friendship the two of you might have. Which leads me to...

You don't, by any chance, know Andrew, do you? I mean, he's been around for a long time (just not sure how long... yet) and so have you. So maybe you've met? If not him, then maybe Adam or Tess? Anyhow, if you do know Andrew, maybe you could just tell me how old he is? Or even how long you've known each other? Cause that'd really help.

So I guess that's about it. All and any help is totally appreciated, Santa. But if you can't help with Andrew's age, I understand. I'd also like a new bicycle. Blue with a metal basket. That'd be great for the longer treks across Dyeland. All the quicker to find Andrew. ;-)

~Rose

P.S. Theo would like request some more catnip. He really liked what you brought him last year.

Dear Santa Claus,

On behalf of my family, thank you for the many times you have brought us exactly what we so wished for.  Catherine would like to thank you for her Easy Bake Oven and I remain very much attached to my treasury of fairy tales that you left for me when I was seven.

I am writing for my son, Jacob, who has not yet learned his letters.  He would like to request a plush reindeer as a memento of your own reindeer.  He has become quite enamored of their story.  So much so that his mother and I were often awoken by him prancing around our room with sleigh bells.  We are very grateful that his grandfather was able to convince him this could be done at times other than 2 A.M.

Thank you for your consideration and thank you for all the Christmas dreams you have made come true for our children.

Be well,
Vincent

Dear Santa,

It's been a very long time since I wrote you and I'm very sorry for that.  But I did want to write this year to say that I've been a very good girl.  Okay, except for stealing Andrew's flannel shirts a time or two...  But is it really stealing if the owner knows you're doing it and just laughs?  I really don't think it is.  Also, in my defense, they're really nice shirts.

Anyhow, I know your sleigh is really full of things for lil boys and girls and maybe it's not your habit to give presents to grown-ups.  But do you think maybe you could just drop a few flannel shirts down Andrew's chimney?  I think I'd... he'd like that.  Thanks, Santa!

Love,
JenniAnn

PS- Seriously I just want him to be happy.  I want all of us to be happy.  Together.

PPS- Size large, please.  He can get by with a medium but since he sometimes wears layers and, right now, has a cast... he might need the extra room in the sleeves.

Hi there, Santa,

How are you?  And Rudolph and the gang?  I hope you're all good.  Things are going well here in Dyeland where I'm writing this from.

Laja said she thought writing you would be fun and the Tunnels kids are excited about it but I don't know what to ask for.  I have everything I could ever want or need.  And let's face it: getting a football right now may not be the best idea!  My left-handed throws are really improving but I don't think I should be trusted with a football yet.  0;-)

You know what you could get me?  Help in spreading the cheer and jolliness you exemplify to my friends here.  They're all pretty happy but after everything they've done for me, I'd like to do everything I can to make them even happier this Christmas!

Thanks, Santa!

Your friend,
Andrew
