10. Various Dyelander ladies
start doing
banshee-style wailing whenever one of the AODs goes on assignment.
9. Of course, they'll have yet another party but this
time when
the dancing starts everyone will be required to keep their arms
straight and still at their sides. Leg movements only,
people!
8. All those tragically killed dudes in Irish ballads make
everyone very, very glad that
Andrew is immortal.
7. Monica shows up and is forbidden to drink any Irish
coffee. This makes the Dyelanders think about Andrew adorably and
compassionately bringing her coffee after her drunken incident in
"Voice of an Angel." Swooning ensues.
6. This then makes everyone realize they can't go watch "Voice of
an
Angel" after the party because it's still not out on DVD... Angry
emailing ensues, each one ending with the phrase "So give us those
DVDs!
And top o' the morning to ye!"
5. Andrew wears a green shirt. Adam follows
suit. And
for once a St. Patrick's Day party ends with people being scraped off
the floor and green beer isn't the cause!
4.
Thinking it'd be cute, someone requests that Tess sing the
Irish
song "Red is the Rose" to Andrew (obviously substituting "lad" for
"lass.") This proves unfortunate when she reaches the lines:
'Tis
all for the loss of my bonny Irish lad
That my heart is breaking
forever.
After she finishes, Andrew is forced to spend an hour reiterating that
he's never,
ever gonna bail on Dyeland. Tess vows to stick with simply "The
Rose"
from then on out.
3. As St. Patrick's Day also serves as the anniversary of
Andrew's arrival in Dyeland, his friends will want to get him
gifts. Since pottery is one of the traditional 9th anniversary
gifts, Andrew will be inundated with handcrafted mugs, plates, and
sculptures from the Dyelanders. And also one DVD of the movie Ghost. Ahem.
2. Andrew decides to have fun with the holiday by
getting dressed
up as a leprechaun. Unfortunately, he has an emergency assignment
in New York City. While there he is spotted by Clinton and Stacey
of TLC's What Not to Wear,
snatched, and forced to appear on their show. Along with trashing
the leprechaun ensemble, the fashionable duo also throw away Andrew's
complete collection of flannel shirts. Dyeland's non-existent
flag is lowered to half non-existent staff in mourning.
1. After a rainstorm the
Dyelanders spot a rainbow. They all hop into Andrew's festively
colored Jolly
Green
Giant, Coolest and Loveliest of Mini-Vans in hopes of finding the
rainbow's end and the promised leprechaun-protected pot of gold.
They discover that no such treasure exists but then note they have
something even more valuable: each other. Awww.
